After starting several small business, Dr. Jeff decided that although he loved running small business, his calling was in health care.

"I wanted to do something in health care, and after working in a health food store for a little over a year, I knew that I wanted to work with the bodies own innate healing ability and after seeing the miracles that my dad had with his patients and chiropractic, I just knew that that was what I wanted to do."

Dr Jeff began his chiropractic education, with his pre-chiropractic requirements at New College of California. There he studied basic pre-professional courses with an emphasis on the basic science courses such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his course of study there, he was accepted at Life Chiropractic West in Hayward, California. During his four years of studies at Life West, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life Chiropractic Clinic.

In 1961, Dr. Joe was in a bad motorcycle accident and completely lost sight in his right eye and started to lose it in his left eye. A few weeks later another tragedy befell our family. His sister was swinging from a bar in the barn and fell onto her back. Several days later, the injury got so bad, it left her paralyzed from the waist down, along with excruciating low back pain. She went through the normal routine to no avail, After being bed ridden and in severe pain for several nights, her parents called the local chiropractor. He came out to the home and gave her an adjustment. she was instantly relieved. The expression of pain on her face was gone and with in three weeks he had her walking again.

Growing up in a small town in North Dakota, news travels very fast amongst the locals. The chiropractor who treated his sister, heard about Dr. Joe's horrible accident. After adjusting his sister for the first time, he told Dr. Joe that chiropractic may be able to help him. The next day he saw the chiropractor. Within 6 weeks, Dr. Joe totally regained the sight in his left eye. It Was because of this extraordinary experience that led him to become a chiropractor.

Dr. Joe graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1961. He started Awender Chiropractic that same year in South San Francisco and has been serving the San Francisco Bay Area ever since.

Dr. Bryan D. Bostock is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated third in his class with honors in 1978. Dr. Bryan has been in practice since 1978. Dr. Bryan has been married to Diane since 1977. They have two children; Kristi and Tim. Kristi was born May, 1980 and Tim was born April 1982. Both have attended San Jose State University. Kristi graduated in May of 2002 with a degree in Marketing. Tim is studying Animation/Illustration.
